# Before you submit to the App Store

> What to check before you send an iPhone or iPad app for review.

Four things to check before you submit an app with a bitHuman avatar.

- **Your app stays small:** the avatar downloads on first use: up to about 190 MB per avatar, plus a 165 MB engine downloaded once (not in your app file).
- **A connection is needed to start a session;** rendering then runs on the device and keeps going through a network drop of up to 5 minutes.
- **Audio and video are rendered on the phone;** bitHuman receives usage counts, not the conversation.
- **Don't ship your API secret in the app:** fetch the key from your server and keep it in the Keychain ([Keep your API secret off the device](https://docs.bithuman.ai/start/secret-off-device)).
